The 10th joint QCA / UCAS survey has now closed. I would like to thank those of you who have contributed to this year's survey into the 14-19 curriculum, your responses and comments will no doubt prove to be a further extremely valuable source of information.
As in previous years, the findings will be shared with other agencies, including the DCSF, Ofsted and the Association of Colleges. Your comments will feed into forthcoming development work and assist Higher Education in formulating appropriate entry requirements. We use the information gathered from this work in the following ways:
In reviewing emergent themes and issues from the information schools and colleges have provided, we gain early information about how certain aspects of the curriculum and qualifications are being viewed and/or used.
The survey is used to qualify these emerging themes - for example our use of the 'attitude scales' at the end of this year's survey. Often this information will have been gathered in relatively small-scale work, and this large-scale survey helps us understand whether there is wider application and/or whether particular issues are associated with particular centre types.
The report on the 2008 survey will be published by QCA in June 2009. If you are interested in our previous work you can access the last three surveys via the following links:
