Publications for students and parents

Below is a selection of the publications we send to students and parents.

Students

Lifelong Learning Guide 2012 (PDF)

Lifelong Learning is a guide for anyone considering higher education who will be aged 21 or over (20 or over in Scotland) when the course begins. It provides detailed information on what to think about before, during and after the application process, case studies, and sources of further information. This guide is free and can be ordered through our Customer Service Unit.

Little Guide 2012 (PDF)
The Little Guide provides an overview of the application process for students thinking of going to university. It covers the basics of researching and choosing courses, and completing an application. The guide can be purchased for £1.99 through our online bookstore, but any students attending a UCAS convention can receive a free copy at the event.

How to apply 2012 booklet (PDF)
This booklet is sent to any student who requests a paper application form. We discourage applicants from applying on paper but realise that there are occasions where it is necessary. The same advice is also available as help text in the online application system, Apply.

Your UCAS Welcome Guide (PDF)
The Welcome Guide is sent to an applicant once we have processed their application. It is sent with the welcome letter and contains advice on the next steps of the application process, such as replying to offers, Extra and Clearing.

Parents

Parent Guide (English) (PDF)

Parent Guide (Welsh) (PDF)

The Parent Guide gives all the information parents need to support their son or daughter through the application process. It provides guidance on making decisions and useful tips on the cost of going to university. Parents can register for a free copy in the parents' section of this website.
