Entry Profiles training

Would you like to improve your institution's information on the UCAS website? Are you happy with your institution's website but can see the value of linking to the UCAS site? If your answer is yes to either of these questions or if you already have Entry Profiles which could do with some updating, then training from the Professional Development Team will help you.

UCAS regularly hosts free training workshops to help UCAS member institutions understand and enhance Entry Profiles. A course on UCAS Course Search with an Entry Profile attached should provide all the necessary information for an applicant to make a fully informed choice and select the right institution for them.

The training takes place at UCAS in Cheltenham. There are two workshops to choose from, either a one-day event or two-day event. The first covers all aspects of creating useful Entry Profiles - this session runs from about 10am to 3pm and includes lunch in the UCAS restaurant. The two-day event includes training on both web-link course data and applicant data on the first day, and day two covers the full Entry Profiles session. Lunch is provided on both days.

Who should attend?

  • The workshops are aimed at staff from UCAS member institutions who work in admissions, marketing and recruitment.
  • Any member of staff responsible for promoting their course information and institution's facilities.
  • Any technical staff that look after the institution's data electronically.

Entry Profiles training aims to help any higher education staff member improve information for applicants, whilst encouraging widening participation and promoting fair admissions through the UCAS Course Search.

What do the workshops cover?

The training begins with refreshments and an introduction to Entry Profiles, looking at what they are, how to manage them and their content. The trainer will then show you how to compile the profile using the UCAS template. Trainees are also introduced to the profile database. Lunch is then provided in the restaurant which has a selection of hot and cold meals, snacks and refreshments. The afternoon ensues with a practical database session and further refreshments before evaluations and departure.
