UCAS is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Director of Customer and Applications Services, Andrea Robertson. Andrea was originally employed with PCAS and UCCA, the forerunners to UCAS, as a programmer. Having worked through database administration and management of small systems run by UCAS, Andrea became Deputy Head of Applications Services in 2004. In February of this year, she became the Acting Director of Customer and Applications Service.
Commenting on Andrea's appointment, Chief Executive of UCAS, Anthony McClaran, said: "I am delighted that Andrea has been appointed to this post. Our focus must always be on our customers, whether they be an applicant or a higher education institution. I know that Andrea's commitment to the best possible customer service and the smooth running of the application process leaves us in secure hands for the future."
Andrea's appointment follows on from the success of moving to 100% online applications for prospective students. Andrea said: "I look forward to building upon the already very high standards of customer service that UCAS has set. Our key priorities for the future will include enhancing our customer focus and ensuring that the application system remains a leading example of its kind in the world."
Andrea grew up in Gloucestershire and attended Pate's Grammar School; she is married with two children.
